Heartwarming “Shrek Forever After”

This fairy tale as its three predecessors is very heartwarming and the director Mike Mitchell downplay the previous installments pop culture parody and includes in the film values of love and fidelity that would bring much glad to the parents. In the movie titular ogre experiences a midlife crisis and is taken into his past by an evil wizard. If he has to make a return then he should win his wife’s affections all over again. The franchise’s high production costs are evident as the animation is too good and goes match to match with the actors strong characterizations. Muck like its predecessors, this film also uses an array of pop music ballads and rock n roll songs. You might thing whether there was any good reason so as to exhibit the movie in 3D version. There are a few action sequences in the film and so the parents are expected to give guidance to their children.

Shrek Forever After

The story begins with the action of the first film. Just before Shrek rescued Fiona from the tower where she was imprisoned by a dragon, her parents tried to get into a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. As per the deal, they would have to forfeit their Kingdom Far Far Away in exchange of their daughter. But due to the heroics of Shrek their daughter was saved and the kingdom remained in their hands. At present Shrek and Fiona leads a peaceful life with their children Shrek was a peace loving father. No one feared him and his daily routine was much exhausting. At their Childs first birthday party, Shrek has a attack and argues with his wife. Rumpelstiltskin over hears the conversation and proposes a deal that would allow Shrek to experience one of his past days in exchange of any other day of his life. Rumpelstiltskin makes a plot and choose the day Shrek was born. Thus the kingdom falls into the hands of Rumpelstiltskin as Shrek didn’t now exist and Fiona was never rescued.

Shrek is now another ogre and so Fiona doesn’t know who he is. Fiona leads ogres’ against Rumpelstiltskin and Shrek should steal True Love’s Kiss so as to break the spell and return to his ordinary life. At the end Shrek and Fiona are able to end the reign of Rumpelstiltskin with the help of a donkey. Shrek falls for Fiona again and soon comes into the reality.

The movie is made on a high cost. The animation work is really superb as the characterizations of actors are very effective. You would not feel watching an animated movie but would get the same experience as of a real film. The movie affirms the value of love and fidelity. There are some materials which are not suitable for children, so parental guidance is suggested. The film contains nothing which would bring you close to the edge of a seat but for all those who have followed the former editions in the series would find something interesting in the film.
